After delays, Shelter House breaks ground amid protests

After seven years of planning and legal disputes, the new Iowa City Shelter House broke ground for its new site at 4 Wednesday afternoon. Some residents have fought to keep their new neighbors away, raising concerns about potentially increased criminal activity.

Locals wonder the best way to handle unsportsmanlike conduct by crowds after umpire Don Briggs ejected not just a fan, but tossed out the entire crowd at a high-school baseball game between Winfield-Mount Union and West Burlington.
