A trial date has been set for Curtis Fry, a 21-year-old Wilton, Iowa, man accused of second-degree murder.
The trial will begin on April 21, online court records show. Fry pleaded not guilty to the charge on Feb. 28.

"Nachte raho" is Hindi for "keep on dancing," and competitors did just that at this year's Nachte Raho dance competition.
Now in its sixth year, the UI Indian Student Alliance hosted the competition March 1 in Hancher Auditorium. The event featured three styles of dance: Dandiya-Raas, Bhangra, and Bollywood Fusion. Nachte Raho is a national competition and among the largest of its kind in the Midwest.

Up to 35 Iowa City homeless veterans could soon have residences if a federally funded pilot program is given the green light.
The Housing and Urban Development's Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program provides voucher assistance, along with case management and community health services.

CEDAR RAPIDS - Iowa-made pure maple syrup took the sweet spotlight on Sunday at the 25th-annual Maple Syrup Festival, showing off a history dating to American Indian times and blanketing warm pancakes for hungry festival-attendees.
The two-day event, which usually draws around 1,500 people, was conceived when Indian Creek Nature Center director Rich Patterson felt people needed a way to learn about syrup production.
