When Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm signed a bill in September that moved the state's presidential primary to Jan. 15, 2008 - just one day after the tentative date for the Iowa caucuses - she must have expected a fight. Because Michigan violated a Democratic National Committee rule barring states from moving their primaries ahead of any of the four hand-picked early states - Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, and South Carolina - the DNC asked all Democratic presidential-nomination candidates to refrain from campaigning in any other state, including Michigan, before the first Tuesday of February. Patrick Bigsby (" 'Sex sells' excuse sold out," DI, Oct. 10), you seem awfully sexist for a self-described "liberal" fellow. I am one of those waitresses who, according to you, was objectified and endangered by last week's Studio 54 party.
