Editorial: Father-son power in the federal government

According to a study for The New York Times by Seth Stephens-Davidowitz, men are 8,500 times more likely to hold an office in Washington if their father was a senator — talk about the influence of daddy. Family names seem to hold analogous power with the dollar bill in Washington.

Cervantes: The stagnation of camaraderie

On June 17, a mass shooting took place in Charleston, South Carolina, at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, one of the nations most historic churches, especially in regards to racially charged attacks. This action, mixed with found evidence that supported claims of Roof being a white supremacist, has placed a critical focal eye on the community and the subsequent actions.

Higgins: Watching my world from afar

Without hesitation, he names that one club in Iowa City where a particular remix might be playing. However, I can't help but make my own request: that my friend commemorate Independence Day with me right here, in the People's Republic of China.
