Area man charged with sexual assault

Authorities have accused a North Liberty man of sexually assaulting a woman.

Roger Fontinel, 44, was charged June 12 with third-degree sexual abuse.

According to the North Liberty police, Fontinel sexually abused a woman March 18 to March 19. 

The woman could not give consent because she was suffering from physical incapacitation or was physically helpless.

The woman was asleep when Fontinel allegedly placed his fingers on her genitals.

Third-degree sexual abuse is a Class-C felony.

IC man charged with robbery

Authorities have accused an Iowa City man of robbing a person.

Darryl Henry, 24, was charged June 13 with second-degree robbery.

According to the Iowa City police, the robbery was premeditated.

He also had the intent to commit assault or threaten the victim to cause fear.

Second-degree robbery is a Class-C felony.

Man charged with 3rd OWI

Authorities have accused a West Liberty man of driving while drunk.

James Morris, 52, was charged June 13 with third-offense OWI and driving with a revoked license.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Morris was driving on June 13 when he was stopped and taken into custody.

Morris reportedly had bloodshot, watery eyes, and impaired balance. He failed the walk-and-turn test and the one-leg stand. Morris refused to submit a preliminary breath test. 

Driving with a revoked license is a serious misdemeanor. Third offense OWI is a Class-D felony.
