Editorial: Delaying troop pullout in Afghanistan is the correct move

Because of the obvious need for a maintained US military presence in the region and the fact that this move confirms our Commander-in-Chief's ability to adapt to changing circumstances, the Editorial Board agrees with the President's actions.


Prall: Riding The Cruz

In fact, Ted Cruz may do very well right here in Iowa.  According to the NYT, in 2012, 47% of voters at the Iowa Caucuses identified as "very conservative" and 57% identified as "evangelical or born-again".  I can see it now! The tea party conservatives of Iowa all swooning and swaying in unison like the vast fields of corn to the sweet sound of Teddy's tongue.


Korobov: Obama's education plan doesn't address the real issues

The President is correct in his argument that education must maintain a priority in our lives if we intend to have a pathway into the middle class. His methodology, however, will not lead to a more advanced education system.


Soyer: End forced marriages

According to a 2011 survey by the Tahirih Justice Center, there had been 3,000 known or suspected cases of forced marriage in the past two years in the United States.


Dugan: End felon disenfranchisement to strengthen democracy

It has been estimated that roughly 5.3 million Americans have lost their right to vote as the result of criminal convictions. This is a staggering number, considering the popular vote of last presidential election was decided by a similar difference, with President Obama skating by with a lead of 4.98 million votes.
