Cedar Rapids man charged with possession of meth

Authorities have accused a Cedar Rapids man of possessing methamphetamines.

Ervin Duryee, 33, was charged with a controlled-substance violation on Nov. 3, 2014.

According to online court documents, officials responded to a suspected methamphetamine lab.

Johnson County sheriff’s deputies gained contact with three subjects, including the defendant, in relation to a stolen vehicle.

When the vehicle was searched, deputies allegedly found camping fuel, lithium, ammonium nitrate, and pseudoephedrine.

The mixture was sent to the Division of Criminal Invstigation Crime Lab for analysis, and the lab confirmed it contained methamphetamine.

Controlled-substance violation is a Class-B felony.
