For her efforts in victories against Wisconsin and Minnesota last week, Iowa point guard Sam Logic has been named the Player of the Week, the Big Ten announced Monday.

Logic has been playing incredibly well in recent weeks, culminating with two near triple-doubles to finish the regular season. She had 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists against Wisconsin on Feb. 26 and followed that with 24 points, 13 assists, and 6 rebounds against the Gophers on Senior Day Sunday.

Her 22-point, 11-assist, 8-rebound weekly averages earned her Player of the Week honors not only from the Big Ten but also ESPN’s National Player of the Week.

The senior is one of only two players in the nation to average 11 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds on the season. She was also named an Academic All-American last week and is a finalist for numerous additional postseason awards.

Iowa is in a unique position this week, having both the men’s and women’s Big Ten Player of the Week — Aaron White received the distinction for head coach Fran McCaffery’s squad.
