City Council approves dumpster ordinance, janitorial service

The City Council voted 7-0 in favor of a resolution to adopt a new permit system for solid waste containers in downtown alleys. This new system would decrease the time permit holders have to fix violations and increase the cost to store a container removed by the city for being in violation of the permit. The resolution also authorized renewal of a contract for janitorial services with ABM Janitorial Services. The initial term of the contract will be for one year and will cost approximately $189,000. The resolution also allows the City Manager to renew the annual contract when needed.

Council Approves Heinz Road rezoning

This rezoning was approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission by a vote of 6-0 at their December 18th meeting. The consideration was deferred from the Council meeting on January 20.
