80 HOURS

Reaching a Crescendo

The UI's Partnership in the Arts production — opening tonight — observes the intricacies of childhood and education in a flurry of masks, stilts, music, and dance. Italian artists Matteo Destro and Paola Colettoan have teamed up for the world premiere of Crescendo.

Wallflowers, Duncan Sheik bring back the '90s

Sounds of sweet memories are guaranteed Friday night at the Homecoming concert. Immediately following the coronation of the Homecoming Court, the Wallflowers and Duncan Sheik will be performing a free show on the Pentacrest.

Homecoming harmony

Besides listening to the Wallflowers and cheering for the Hawkeyes at the game Saturday, Homecoming Week will host several other traditions.

Giving a voice to domestic violence

When music and choreographed dance are mentioned, thoughts of domestic violence are rarely quick to follow. Maria's Voice attempts to meld these elements for Englert audiences for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Comedy on a dime

Tonight at Old Brick, three improv troupes will come together for a night of comedy and creativity: The Paperback Rhinos, considered the third-best college improv group in the country; The Great White Narcs; and the Janice Ian Experience, an all-female troupe.

'80s disco meets Ancient Greece

A local organization seeks "Food for Everyone"

Review: Recyclable Boat Races

The real measure of humanity's drive, of our passion, of our grit, of our success as a species, is our ability to strap garbage together with duct tape and paddle it across a pool. Nowhere was this more clear than at the Homecoming Recyclable Boat Races at the Field House on Monday.

Review: Costume Quest 2

If I had to think about it, there really aren't that many Halloween-theme games out there. Plenty of horror games certainly, but only a few actual Halloween games. Costume Quest 2 is a turn-based RPG that follows the trick-or-treating adventures of fraternal twins Reynold and Wren.

Drink of the Week: RumChata Iced Coffee

The season for iced coffee has nearly expired, but as long as temperatures remain above freezing and Peppermint Mochas have yet to replace Pumpkin Spice Lattes, it's not too late to play with this refreshing beverage.
