University of Iowa officials received the seventh reported sexual assault from a student over the weekend.

According to a warning sent to UI students, faculty, and staff on Monday, the assault occurred at an off-campus fraternity house on Oct. 4.

Earlier this year, UI President Sally Mason announced the UI created its first-ever sanctioned guidelines to combat this issue on the UI campus. The consequences range from probation to expulsions, depending on factors that would lead to harsher consequences, including intimidation or the use of force.

During the 2013-14 academic year, there were 12 sexual assaults reported to officials. So far this semester, the number of reported sexual assaults has reached more than double what it was this time last year.

Mason on Monday also announced a greater commitment to preventing sexual assault by allocating funding to increase sexual-assault-prevention efforts and education.
