Man charged with theft

Authorities have accused a Cedar Rapids man of stealing a vehicle.

Mark Spicer, 20, was accused of first-degree theft after police found him as a passenger in a missing vehicle.

According to online court documents, authorities were notified about the vehicle, which was marked as being stolen from Cedar Rapids, by a traffic stop.

Officers reportedly found Spicer inside the vehicle; after questioning, he allegedly admitted he received the vehicle from a another party for a payment of around $75 to $100.

He reportedly admitted to being in possession of the vehicle for approximately a week prior to police notification.

The vehicle has a value of $19,000.

First-degree theft is a Class-C felony.
