With a 7-1 victory over Nebraska-Omaha on Sunday morning, the Iowa baseball team closed out the Snowbird Winter Classic with a 4-0 record.

With this weekend’s victories, the Hawkeyes move to 6-1 overall, the program’s best start since 1985.

“The guys are taking a professional approach and going out and playing hard every day,” head coach Rick Heller said in a press release. “That’s what happens when you show up and play every day, you give yourself a chance to win.”

In their four games in Port Charlotte, Fla., the Black and Gold outscored their opponents 34-11, including a 2-0 shutout over St. Bonaventure.

The Hawks will return to action this weekend at the Stetson Invitational in Deland, Fla.
