The Iowa baseball team will ditch the cold weather of Iowa City in exchange for Port Charlotte, Fla., this weekend.

The Hawkeyes are scheduled to play four games in the Snowbird Baseball Classic.

Today, the Hawkeyes will play one game against Mississippi Valley State at 1:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Hawkeyes have a double-header, one game against St. Bonaventure and another against Ball State. Those games will take place at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m..

The Hawkeyes will close out the weekend on Feb. 23 with a game against Nebraska-Omaha that’s set to start at 8 a.m.

The Hawkeyes come into this weekend fresh off a season-opening series win against Austin Peay. Iowa took two of the three games and has a 2-1 record.

Hawkeye sophomore Calvin Matthews is set to take the mound for the Hawkeyes in their weekend-opening matchup.
