On Friday, the University of Iowa International Programs will host its monthly WorldCanvass; this month’s theme is A Century of Film.

WorldCanvass is hosted by Joan Kjaer, the International Programs’ director of strategic communication. She interviews four guest panels on a designated theme in the Old Capitol Senate Chambers.

This month’s event features discussions on the evolution of film, filmmaking and the public, the next generation of filmmakers, and challenging the status quo.

Some of the guests include Stephen Maing, the director of the documentary High Tech, Low Life, UI journalism lecturer Lisa Weaver, and UI Professor Steven Ungar, head of film studies.

The event will be broadcast on KRUI and UITV as well as available through iTunes podcast.
