Lindsay Seemann and Abby Grilli won Big Ten Swimmer and Diver of the Week awards.

The Iowa swimming and diving team took home two Big Ten awards following its meet with Iowa State. Senior Lindsay Seemann won Swimmer of the Week, and redshirt junior Abby Grilli was awarded Diver of the Week.

Seemann won three events in the Iowa State meet while also breaking a Beyer Hall pool record. In addition, she met NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 100 backstroke (54.75 seconds), the 200 backstroke (1:57.82) while also swimming in the 400-freestyle relay (3:24.14). This is the Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, native’s first Swimmer of the Week award.

Grill placed first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 336.97 and finished runner-up in the 1-meter (296.40), also versus Iowa State. Both of her dives met NCAA diving standards, and her 3-meter diving score was also a season-best for her. This is Grilli’s second Diver of the Week honor.
