An Iowa City man has been accused of manufacturing methamphetamine in his home.

Kenneth Emmerson, 39, was charged July 29 with third or subsequent offense possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance in a structure or vehicle.

According to an Iowa City police complaint, on July 29, Iowa City police officers and members of the Johnson County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation at 628 N. Linn St. Apt. 4.

During a later search, officials allegedly found several items of drug paraphernalia that contained both marijuana and methamphetamine.

Law-enforcement officials said they had received numerous complaints of a possible operation at Emmerson’s residence. He has previous convictions on July 23, 2001, Nov. 3, 2004, and Feb. 6, 2009.
