A military buzz cut and black wide-rim glasses can only be the trade mark look of one person . . . Drew Carey.

The stand-up comic turned actor and producer will leaves Iowa City fans roaring with laughter this weekend at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Englert, 221 E. Washington. Admission ranges from $42 to $55.

Carey is most famous for his long-running comedy "The Drew Carey Show," which ran from 1995–2004, and the well–known comedy skit show, "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" where he was the host and producer.

His great success with that improv show, allowed him the opportunity to create "Drew Carey's Improv All-Stars," which is an improv group that performs across the entire country.

But in 2007, Carey received a new gig and his career was once again on viewer's radar.

When longtime front-runner of the popular television game show "The Price is Right," Bob Barker, retired a replacement was needed.

Although it seemed like a tough decision at first, the producers ultimately believed Carey would make a great fit.

Now, Carey is enjoying his career as host for "The Price Is Right" and touring across the country promoting his own stand-up show.
