Re: Say hello to Obamacare

Kansas & Missouri are two of 27 (I think) states that didn’t expand Medicare. Because of that, the poorest people will not receive any health-insurance coverage. Between those to states, it’s about 500K people who won’t be covered at all. Personally, I think Obamacare will be a mess; there’s nothing in it by the supporters’ own admission to drive down costs. And I learned last night Obama has signed 21 bills that modified it in some way already. They rushed it through without taking their time with it. Eventually, I figure, they’ll start taking some of it out and changing it, but it will be in force. I don’t see the GOP gutting it completely.

Re: No Child Left Behind failing

I perceive this as a fair, factual assessment of another problem with education in this country today.

How can we citizens help get our nation back to a proper evaluation of education, rather than so much support for the wealthy, so much military spending, budget cuts disregarding the poor, adequate care for the mentally ill, and control of guns? In other words, how can we get back to valuing human life?
