The Iowa men’s tennis team wrapped up play at the Purdue Invitational on Sunday.

Andres Estenssoro won both of his matches along with doubles partner Kristiyan Trukov of Marquette to capture the Flight B Consolation title (8-5).  Estenssoro finished the weekend with a 4-1 doubles record and a 2-1 record in singles play.

The first day of play was delayed three times by weather that forced most of the competition indoors.

Freshman Nils Hallestrand and senior Brian Alden made their Iowa débuts. Hallestrand advanced to the Flight C quarterfinals with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 win over Pat O’Neill of Indiana University-Purdue University/Indianapolis before falling in three sets (6-4, 1-6, 6-3) to DePaul tennis player Adam Reinhart.
