Former Iowa All-American Diane Nukuri-Johnson took the women’s 10,000 meters title at the Francophone Games in Nice, France, last week. The 2008 graduate clocked a championship record time of 32.29.4, more than a minute faster than the previous mark of 33:41.28 set in 2005.

Nukuri was a three-time cross-country All-American while competing for the Hawkeyes from 2006-08. She won the conference title and was named Big Ten Women’s Cross-Country Athlete of the Year in 2007. She is the school record holder in four cross-country events and four track and field events.
