SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

I am disappointed that the U.S. Supreme Court has decided to overturn the federal Defense of Marriage Act. Too many children are being hurt by our culture’s strange and increasing inability to appreciate how important it is to bring together mothers and fathers for children in one loving home. Our society need an institution that connects children to their mothers and fathers, and the only institution that does this is marriage. Redefining marriage changes the basic understanding of marriage from a child-centered institution to one that sees it as a temporary, revocable commitment that prioritizes the “romantic” happiness of adults over building a loving, lasting family.

The meaning and direction of sexuality is essentially to bring about the union of man and woman, and in this way give humanity posterity, children, future. This is a point we need to hold firm, even if it is not pleasing to our age. On the heel of this new ruling we need now, more than ever, to work to rebuild a more loving and successful traditional marriage culture.
