Due to a higher than anticipated number of bids, the state Board of Regents revised the project budget for a replacement scoreboard and video board for Kinnick Stadium and the Paul W. Breschler Press Box.

The Board of Regents will consider approval of the revised project budget of $2.4 million and contract award of $1.9 million to McComas-Lacina Construction of Iowa City.

The initial budget for the project was roughly $1.3 million. UI officials received three bids for the project on April 17. According to a regent release, the higher than anticipated bids were "the result of a premium for a tight construction schedule, calculation errors within the prepared cost estimate, and design refinements due to site and building conditions discovered after approval of the initial budget."

The revised budget now stands at $2.4 million, a more than $1 million jump from the initial budget.
