A man has been accused of intentionally pointing a firearm at another and being intoxicated.

According to two Coralville police complaints, Raynard Woods, 38, address unknown, was charged Dec. 1 with display of a weapon and public intoxication.

Officers were dispatched to 2128 10th St. Place after receiving a report of a weapons offense.

According to the report, on arrival, officers found Woods in the front yard with bloodshot, watery eyes, and he smelled of ingested alcohol, was belligerent, and admitted to drinking alcohol.

The victim at the scene stated that Woods pointed a black handgun approximately 1 foot away from her head, and she felt fearful for her life, the complaints said.

A black BB gun was later found at the residence where it is believed Woods hid it.

Woods has been convicted of three public-intoxication charges on May 30 and 31, 2008, and Sept. 6, 2011.

Assault use or display of a weapon is an aggravated misdemeanor punishable up to two years in prison with a maximum fine of $6,250.
