Lack of transparency disturbing

As the story of Peter Gray — the former Iowa athletics department employee accused of sexual misconduct — begins to garner national attention, University of Iowa officials remain characteristically, conspicuously silent.


Bianchini: No shave November benefits

But what many students don't know is that No Shave November actually brings a subtle awareness to prostate cancer. In fact, in 2012, there are an estimated 241,740 new cases and 28,170 deaths in the United States due to prostate cancer, according to the National Cancer Institute.


Donda:  Raise awareness about dating violence on campus

The Strategic Communication Campaigns class at the School of Journalism has launched its "Hawkeyes Against Dating Violence" campaign, in partnership with the Domestic Violence Intervention Program, to advocate for greater awareness and openness to discuss dating violence issues.
