A North Liberty man was accused of having possession of marijuana.

Christopher Unverzogt, 39, North Liberty, was charged Monday with OWI and possession of marijuana.

According to a North Liberty Police complaint an officer pulled Unverzogt over for driving across a median. The driver smelled of alcohol and an officer could see an open container of alcohol in plain sight.

The complaint said the officer could also smell marijuana and found a small tin containing a green, leafy substance appearing to be marijuana and a small pipe. Unverzogt admitted it was his and he had another small bag between the seats of the car.

Unverzogt also admitted to drinking a total of five beers.

Possession of marijuana and OWI are both considered serious misdemeanors.
