William "Bill" C. Coonrod, 91 of Iowa City, died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Briarwood Health Care Center after a short illness.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Avenue, with entombment to follow at the Memory Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the VFW, Post 6414, 1259 Riverside Road, Riverside, IA 52327.

Mr. Coonrod was born September 4, 1920, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Ira and Winifred Coonrod. He married Evelyn Hawkins July 3, 1952, in Mason City. They moved to Iowa City in 1967, where he worked for the VA Hospital as Senior Cook until his retirement. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He served his country in the National Guard during World War II from December 8, 1941 until December 23, 1945, having been at Pearl Harbor, Saipan, Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

Survivors include two daughters, Chadyeanne (Mrs. Thomas) Scesniak of Schaumburg, Illinois; Nancy (Mrs. William) Sparks of San Antonio, Florida; and a son, John Hawkins of Davenport, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren; a sister Faye (Mrs. Robert) Fisher of Waterloo, Iowa. Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Carol Sheppard; brother, John Coonrod, sisters, Shirley Damon and Iris Jensen. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews; his long and loyal friends, George McCune and Rose Meer, together with their families and many wonderful friends.

William "Bill" S. Moeller, 87, died Friday, June 22nd at Windmill Manor Care Center.

Family Committal Services will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Riverside. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the William Moeller Memorial Fund c/o Box 167, Iowa City, IA 52244.

Bill was born May 25, 1925 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Walter and Mildred Smith Moeller. He served his country in the US Army Air Corps and was a graduate of the College of Medicine at the University of Iowa.

Bill was a psychiatrist at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Rita (Droll) Moeller of Iowa City; two sons, Dr. Christopher Moeller of Wichita, KS. and Scott Moeller of Ardmor, OK; and 3 grandchildren Michael, Theresa and Matthew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son William Walter and his sister Jean Porter.
