Former Iowa wrestler Ryan Morningstar joined the Hawkeyes' coaching staff as a full-time assistant coach, announced head coach Tom Brands on Wednesday.

Morningstar competed for the Hawkeyes from 2007-2010 and earned four NCAA Championships berths and two all-American honors while wearing an Iowa singlet. Morningstar was a member of the 2008-2010 national champion teams.

The former Hawkeye spent one season on Wisconsin's coaching staff as an assistant coach last season, but now Morningstar will join associate head coahes Tom and Terry Brands and assistant coach Mike Zadick as a full-time member of Iowa's coaching staff.

"I couldn't be more excited to come home and work for my mentors," Morningstar said in a release. "I'm really looking forward to rejoining the wrestling program and getting to work."
