Should employers be able to discriminate based on criminal history?

The Waterloo City Council is considering an ordinance that would forbid employers from hiring anyone based on that person's criminal record.


Banned book highlights flaw in American psyche

The Erie School District in Illinois banned a children's book filled with silly pictures, about ten words per page, and bright colors called The Family Book, by Todd Parr, arguing that it is too political, too "irreligious," and too homosexual.


College of Liberal Arts has a great story to tell

During the recent dean search, it became clear that it was the caliber of the people — their intellects and their collegiality — that made Iowa such an attractive place to study or to develop a career.
