Local blues and boogie-woogie pianist Chase Garrett will return to the stage at 7 p.m. today in the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts, 1301 Fifth Ave. Admission for the show is $20 to $25.

The show will feature Garrett as well as fellow pianist Philippe LeJeune of Toulouse, France.

"This show is going to have a little more jazz in it," Garrett said. "[LeJeune] is more of a jazz player; his style definitely incorporates more jazz into it and a lot more swing."

LeJeune and Garrett connected through the boogie-woogie performance circle, but they met for the first time just earlier this week. The show in Coralville is among several that LeJeune is currently performing across the Unied States.

Despite the short preparation time, the two will play a series of eight duets that they have each played previously.

"I'm very excited to hear how we play these songs together," Garrett said.

Cassius Geons will also join the pair on the drums. The show will be "cut down to its core," Garrett said, including solely pianos and drums rather than an entire band. He said performance will give the atmosphere of a 1920s dance club.
