The Iowa City City Council will hold a public hearing to approve plans for renovations to Iowa City Fire and Police Department facilities.

The project will include modernizing the fire station's kitchen and office area and updating several rooms in the police station.

The estimated construction cost is $279,000; it will be funded with general obligation bonds.

The council will hold the public hearing during its next meeting, May 1.
