Cedar Rapids man charged with theft

A Cedar Rapids man is accused of stealing a credit card with the intent of unauthorized use.

Tyler Caughey, 23, was charged Feb. 7 with unauthorized use of a credit card.

According to a complaint, Caughey attempted to purchase $114.61 worth of alcohol with the stolen credit card. The victim reportedly told police that the defendant did not have permission to use the card.

Unauthorized use of a credit card is an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of two years in prison and a maximum fine of $6,250.
