Jarrett Mitchell: Thank you

I would like to thank all the candidates for a wonderful political season and congratulations to all who were victorious. I would like to dedicate this campaign to the University of Iowa's Ana Mendieta School of Art and Art History and the people of Iowa City.

Joseph Beuys once said "every man is an artist," and thus we all aided in sculpting the situation that has now become manifest. The work of Art called Life is never finished. Tuesday night was neither the beginning nor the end. It was simply a point in time in which the desire for a better world has become manifest in the outcome of a political event. We create the world we want to live in.

Through our thoughts, actions, purchases, and votes, we sculpt our world.

It seems it was not enough votes to have my voice on the Iowa City City Council, but it was enough votes to know that the issues that I represent have traction in this community. Thank you for your support.

Jarrett Mitchell
former City Council candidate
