Coralville police charged a local woman with theft after allegedly returning items she had not purchased to a store.

Gwendolyn Oshoba, 44, 1828 Hollywood Court, was charged April 18 with fourth-degree theft.

According to a police report, Oshoba is seen entering a Coralville Wal-Mart, 2801 Commerce Drive, carrying nothing but her purse.

Officials said Oshoba was allegedly seen later with a shark vacuum steamer, and was recognized as a person suspected of returning several items without a receipt.

When confronted, Oshoba told officials the returns were for a friend, the report said.

Police said the friend stated she had only asked Oshoba to return two dresses, not the vacuum.
