After failing to pull off a win on its road trip to Michigan, it appears the Iowa men's tennis team (8-10, 2-6) will fail to reach its goal of finishing top-four in the Big Ten.

Iowa first fell to No. 57 Michigan State on April 16, 4-3, when the Spartans smothered a rally attempt from the Hawkeyes late in the match. The Black and Gold then lost to No. 27 Michigan on Sunday, 5-2. Even though Iowa was able to secure the doubles point at the beginning of the match, the Wolverines responded aggressively by sweeping all but one of the singles matches. Austen Kauss recorded the second point for the Hawkeyes.

Iowa will finish out the year at home with matches against Wisconsin on Friday and No. 24 Minnesota on the April 24. Both matches will be played at the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complex.
