Coralville man charged with third-degree sex abuse

Iowa City police arrested a Coralville man after he allegedly performed a sex act on a woman without her consent.

Eric Kulow, 27, was charged March 18 with third-degree sexual abuse.

According to a police report, the alleged victim had been drinking alcohol at a friend’s house, 10211⁄2 Walnut St., March 17 and passed out on the couch.

The alleged victim told police she woke up in the middle of the night to Kulow allegedly performing a sex act on her and told him to stop.

The report said Kulow stopped when asked and admitted to police the alleged victim was asleep when he allegedly performed the sex act on her and she did not consent.

Third-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
