Police have charged a Mill bartender with serving alcohol after hours.

Arthur Adams IV, 25, 1034 Burlington St., was charged April 10 with selling or dispensing alcohol between the hours of 2 and 6 a.m.

According to police reports, police responded to a disturbance call at the Mill, 120 E. Burlington St., on April 5.

The report said music could be heard from outside when officers arrived, and there were allegedly six people sitting at the front bar, each with an alcoholic beverage in front of them.

After knocking on the door, officers said they heard and saw people inside say police were at the door before moving to the back of the bar, where they could not be seen.

The report said an allegedly intoxicated male came to the door.

Police said they spoke with the bartender, Adams, who allegedly said he was pressured into giving the band drinks by the talent manager for the Mill.
