An Iowa City man was charged with OWI after he allegedly wrecked a client’s car.

Jacob Stein, 31, 1688 Burns Ave., was charged March 30 with OWI and operating without consent.

According to complaints from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Stein rolled a red Jaguar over on Interstate 80 at 1:07 a.m. Jan. 9.

The report said Stein was coming from the Wildwood Smokehouse & Saloon near Herbert Hoover Highway before he wrecked the vehicle.

On scene, Stein allegedly told deputies the car was a client’s from his auto-repair business.

The report said a blood sample taken at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics showed Stein to have a blood-alcohol content of .240.
