The Iowa Senate decided Wednesday not to pass a bill that would have provided manufactured-home tenants and buyers rights similar to those of renter or homeowners.

The bill, which was introduced in February, would have required more disclosures during the sale of manufactured and mobile homes, amend provisions relating to forcible entry and detainer actions, provide penalties, and include applicability provisions.

The bill was an effort to prevent abuse-related incidences from happening to leases, sales, and fines of mobile homes.
