Sam Adams will return to the Iowa City music scene for the second time this year on Friday. He will perform two shows — at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. — at the Blue Moose, 211 Iowa Ave. Admission is $17 in advance and $20 the day of the show.

Originally from Boston, this rapper, singer, and producer brings a mix of hip-hop and electronic beats to his music. He first emerged when he released his single “Driving Me Crazy,” which reached one of the top spots on iTunes and was in the Top 10 on Billboard for hip-hop singles.

From there, he relied on social networking sites such as Myspace and Facebook to promote his EP Boston’s Boy. His song “I Hate College (Remix),” a remix to Asher Roth’s song “I Love College,” received more than 1 million views on YouTube. His next record, Party Records Mixtape, was released in September 2010.
