Comedian Joel McHale to grace the IMU

American standup comedian, actor, writer, television producer, television personality, and voice artist Joel McHale will perform in the IMU Main Lounge at 10 p.m. Friday. Admission is $5.

McHale was a member of the improv comedy group Unexpected Productions. He then went on to start as a cast member on KING-TV’s “Almost Live” and followed that up with completing the Actor’s Training Masters Program at the University of Washington.

After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles and received parts on “Will & Grace,” “CSI: Miami,” and “Oliver Beene.” He has also received roles in Spider Man 2, The Onion Movie, and Lords of Dogtown.

In recent years he has filmed The Informant and hosted Ubisolft’s Press Conference event at E32010. He currently stars in “Community,” which has been on television since 2009.

In addition to acting, he writes, produces, and stars in “The Soup” on E!, where he counts down the most absurd and surreal moments in the celebrity world.
