The state Board of Regents voted unanimously to ratify several tentative collective bargaining agreements Wednesday, including the agreement with the Campaign to Organize Graduate Students at the University of Iowa.

The contractual agreement held between COGS and the UI Graduate College and the regents was ratified by COGS members Feb. 22. The contract gave UI teaching and research assistants 100 percent tuition coverage through the 2013 academic year, based on the tuition increases in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

The agreement also provided graduate employees a 2 percent raise for the 2011-12 academic year and a 2.5 percent raise for 2012-13.

In addition to COGS, the regents also approved the collective-bargaining agreement for the tertiary health-care employees at the UI Hospitals and Clinics, which now allows members to participate in the university’s benefit plan.
