The Piano Lounge, 217 Iowa Ave., was notified Tuesday that it is no longer able to serve liquor on its premises.

The Iowa City City Council denied its application for a liquor-license renewal on Feb. 18. The Piano Lounge chose not to appeal the decision.

Because the establishment did not appeal within the allowed amount of time, it immediately lost its ability to sell or serve alcoholic beverages or have any alcohol consumed on its property.
