Ex-UI President Rawlings to head president’s group

Former University of Iowa President Hunter Rawlings was named President of the Association of American Universities Monday, according to a press release.

Rawlings served as the UI president from 1988 to 1995, and he has also served as the president of Cornell University.

The association is made up of 61 public and private research universities around the United States, plus two in Canada.

Rawlings will begin his five-year term on June 1.
