The Iowa Senate voted 26-24 to establish a categorical state percent of growth of 2 percent for K-12 public schools.

This plan would be enacted for the school budget year, which begins on July 1.

This growth will include professional development supplement as well as the teacher salary supplement. It also includes the early intervention supplement.

The bill will take effect upon enactment, and can be used to compute state aid under the state school foundation program for the upcoming budget year.
