Iowa City police arrested a cab passenger Wednesday after allegedly finding crack cocaine on the woman during a traffic stop.

Chonghui Hannah, 23, 2401 Highway 6 Apt. 3801, was charged Wednesday with possession of a controlled substance and obstruction.

According to the complaint, officers stopped the taxi Hannah was riding in for a traffic violation, and a drug-detection dog alerted officers narcotics were present in the vehicle.

Officers then searched Hannah and found a white rocky substance that tested positive for cocaine, the report said.

Later, officers said, the defendant produced 4.8 grams of cocaine she had tried to hide. The report also said Hannah tried to dispose of the crack cocaine pieces while an officer was searching her.

Possession of a controlled substance is a serious misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a maximum fine of $1,875.

Obstruction is an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison and a maximum fine of $6,250.
