A Johnson County administrative law judge upheld an Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division ruling, which punished a downtown bar for failing an alcohol compliance check, according to court documents.

In October 2008, officers conducted a compliance check at Bo-James, 118 E. Washington St.

According to the documents, a door man at the bar stamped the hand of a 20-year-old who police sent on the check. The decoy proceeded to buy a Budweiser.

With the ruling, Bo-James faces a $500 fine.
