The Johnson County Board of Supervisors at a work session on Feb. 4 voted to increase the salaries of some elected officials in fiscal 2012.

Supervisor Rod Sullivan said the county sheriff will receive a 2 percent increase. He also confirmed that the auditor will receive a 1.5 percent increase and the recorder, treasurer, county attorney, and five supervisors will receive a 1 percent increases.

The county’s Compensation Board recommended the increases, which originally sat at 4 percent for the sheriff and 3 percent for the auditor, but the supervisors agreed to cut the proposed wages in half.

Union employees will also see a 3 percent increase for the next fiscal year, though Sullivan said some union employees already received that increase for the current fiscal year.
