Police: Kohl’s workers find pot in woman’s returns

Johnson County deputies arrested a Waterloo woman after she allegedly returned a bag of marijuana to a Kohl’s department store.

Whitney Gardner, 24, was charged Feb. 3 with possession of marijuana.

According to a complaint from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to Kohl’s after Gardner returned several items to the store, one of which contained a bag of marijuana.

The complaint said Gardner has one previous drug conviction.

Second-offense possession of a controlled substance is a serious misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a maximum fine of $1,875.
