North Liberty police arrested a man they reported was driving a snowmobile while intoxicated.

Eric Holtzman, 32, of Gainsville, Ga., was charged Sunday with OWI.

According to police reports, a police officer saw Holtzman and a passenger crash their snowmobile in a ditch. When the officer approached him, Holtzman, still wearing a mask, had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, the report said.

Holtzman failed numerous breath tests and officers smelled alcohol when he blew into the tube for the preliminary breath test, according to police. He reportedly also failed field sobriety tests.

First-offense OWI is a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison and a maximum fine of $1,250.
